Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Speak Sneak collects, uses, shares, and retains information when you use Speak Sneak.
Information we collect
Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive identifiers and profile details such as your name, email address, and profile image from our authentication provider. You may choose an illustrated Speak Sneak avatar and display name.
Game information. We store rooms, player rosters, phrase assignments, slips, accusations, outcomes, corrections, scores, and replay settings. Guest sessions use random reconnect credentials stored in the guest’s browser.
Custom content. We store phrase packs, TXT/CSV imports, names, and descriptions you submit.
Usage and device information. We may collect page views, feature interactions, approximate location derived from network information, browser type, device type, error details, and performance data. We configure analytics to avoid collecting private phrase text and do not enable session replay for private game screens.
How we use information
We use information to operate realtime games; reconnect devices; save accounts, packs, statistics, badges, streaks, and replays; prevent abuse; diagnose errors; improve product usability; and comply with legal obligations.
How information is shared
We use service providers for hosting, realtime data, authentication, analytics, and security, including Vercel, Convex, Clerk, and PostHog. They process information for us under their own terms and privacy commitments. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or transfer of the business.
Replays are private by default. If a host makes a replay public, anyone with its link may see the included names, illustrated avatars, phrases, accusations, outcomes, and corrections. Public replay pages are excluded from search indexing where supported, but a shared link can still be copied by its recipients.
Retention
Game history, unfinished games, and replays are scheduled to expire approximately one year after creation. Aggregated account statistics, badge progress, earned badges, and sneak streaks may remain until the account is deleted so they can continue across games.
Your choices
Hosts can keep replays private or make them public. You may update your profile or delete your account. Deleting a participating player’s account removes the account link and anonymizes that player in retained replays. Deleting a host account deletes rooms, custom packs, and replays owned by that host, subject to limited backup and legal retention needs.
Children
Accounts are intended for people age 13 and older. Younger people may only participate as guests under a host’s supervision. We do not knowingly collect account information from children under 13.
Security and international processing
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no Internet service can guarantee absolute security. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate.
Changes and contact
We may update this Policy as Speak Sneak develops. The date above identifies the latest version. Questions or privacy requests may be sent to support@speaksneak.com.
